Music for your celebration
Music for people to come together, let go and celebrate
Every celebration is different, and so is the music that brings it to life. From familiar favourites to something a little less expected, I work with your musical tastes, the occasion and the people in the room.
I'm not detached behind the decks. I pay attention to how people respond, and that shapes where the music goes next.
The Music
The tracks everyone knows and loves are often at the heart of a great celebration. Classics, forgotten favourites, singalongs and hands-in-the-air moments are part of what makes a shared dancefloor work. But familiar doesn't have to mean predictable.
There's always room for a less obvious track from a favourite decade or genre, an unexpected choice, or occasionally something completely new that simply fits the moment. The aim is a dancefloor that feels like your celebration, rather than a standard playlist taken from one event to the next.
Your Music Matters
As much musical input as you want to give is welcome. Must-play tracks, absolute do-not-plays, favourite artists and genres, particular eras, first dances and songs with special significance all help shape the event.
For the music that really matters, the story can matter too. A first dance or the song that was playing when you first met means something different from an ordinary request.
On the Night
Requests are welcome. If something works for the dancefloor, it can become part of where the night goes. Not every request will fit, and keeping everyone dancing takes precedence over playing every song that's asked for.
Cosmic Turtle provides the music rather than a full MC or compère service. I'm happy to make necessary announcements, and a microphone is available for speeches and announcements if required. The focus remains where it belongs: the music, the dancefloor and the people on it.
Sound & Lighting
High-quality sound is an important part of the Cosmic Turtle offering. Good music deserves to be heard properly.
A complete professional sound and lighting system can be provided, suitable for a wide range of small and medium-sized celebrations.
DJ-only bookings using an existing venue or event sound system can also be considered by prior agreement, provided the equipment is suitable for the event.
Celebration Bookings
Every celebration is different, so bookings are tailored to the occasion.
We'll discuss your music, plans and requirements beforehand, with performance times agreed to suit your celebration.
Longer sets, DJ-only bookings and other arrangements can also be considered.
Please get in touch to discuss what you have in mind.
Listen
My recorded sets explore the more specialist side of Cosmic Turtle, including psytrance, progressive trance, deep house, psybient and psychill.
Celebration sets draw on a much broader repertoire, from disco, funk and soul to pop, rock, dance classics and beyond, shaped by your tastes and the occasion.
This is some of the territory, not its boundaries.
